Eric Unger
Eric Unger is the President and Chief Compliance Officer of Affiance Financial, as well as a Partner. As President, he is responsible for aligning and integrating the firm’s major functions, leading its team of dedicated officers and directors, and driving progress toward Affiance Financials’ strategic vision. With a broad base of leadership experience and a deep understanding of the business, Eric brings a unique and comprehensive perspective to the firm.
In his role as Chief Compliance Officer, Eric oversees the firm’s adherence to federal and state statutes, rules, and regulations. He develops, implements, and monitors the firm’s internal policies and procedures, manages audits, and addresses compliance-related matters with diligence and care.
Eric joined the Affiance Financial team in 2006, beginning his career as a Financial Planner. As the industry evolved in the wake of the Great Recession, Eric pivoted to meet growing regulatory demands, taking on increasing responsibilities in compliance. In 2013, he played a key role in implementing the firm’s business operating system through EOS, a step that ultimately led to his appointment as President. In 2022, Eric cemented his long-term commitment to Affiance by becoming a Partner.

- He and his wife and daughter stay busy going on bike rides, attending youth sports and activities, and getting together with family.
- Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors, especially fishing.
- He is a passionate Minnesota sports fan, especially when it comes to the Twins.
